Why Do We Solve Problems?

In analyzing yourself and in supervising and encouraging others to solve problems, it helps to know what motivates us to solve problems. Sensitivity plays a part. In my research I have accumulated some keys:

Motivation

Our actions are influenced by motivation, which is stimulated by certain needs, instincts, desires, and emotions. Some of these are:
Love
Fear
Joy
Curiosity
Food & water
Self-esteem
Physical needs
Happiness
Social status
Self-preservation
Financial gain
Usefulness
Adversity
Goal seeking
Anxiety & anger

There are times when we must solve problems of necessity, for school, to satisfy parents, and for other special reasons. It can be fun and is a part of the essence of life.

Some basic motivations for problem origination and solution are the joys of:
Financial gain
Competition
Intellectual achievement
Satisfying curiosity
Discovery
Teamwork
Helping others
Learning
Problem solving
Being successful
Self-improvement
Fame & prestige
Good school grades
Being useful

Sensitivity

Sensitivity to people and things, such as the following, plays a big part in problem origination and solution:
